Know your business credit. Strengthen it with a plan.
Suppliers deciding on terms and lenders pricing a loan read a file most owners have never seen.
Four ways in
- You applied for financing and were declined without a clear reason.
- A supplier refused net terms or asked for prepayment.
- You just formed the entity and want the file built correctly from day one.
- Something on your record is wrong and you do not know how to fix it.
Fixed price and the Audit Refund Rule are in writing before any paid work begins — see pricing and the terms. Credentials and licence numbers are on the About page. We do not publish a client count we cannot document.
Most files are empty.
Profitable companies that have paid every invoice for a decade routinely have no PAYDEX score at all.
The score is built only from payment experiences vendors choose to report. Most vendors do not. D&B needs at least two tradelines reporting, with a minimum of three payment experiences, before it calculates anything. Pay perfectly to vendors who do not report and none of it counts.
It is also weighted by dollar amount and toward recent activity. One large invoice paid late moves it far more than a small one. Which accounts you open, in what order, at what size, is a decision worth making deliberately.
Two ways to fill an empty file.
One borrows. The other uses what you already pay for. We only do the second, and here is the honest difference.
Borrow money you never receive.
A bank lends your business a sum, locks it in a savings account, and reports your repayments as a commercial installment loan. When the term ends you get the money back, less the fee.
- One tradeline, from one lender.
- New debt on the balance sheet; your cash parked for two to four years; a set-up fee.
- Most such products report to Equifax, Experian or SBFE. Few report to Dun & Bradstreet, so PAYDEX — the figure your suppliers read — may not move at all.
A legitimate product with a real use. We do not sell one, and we receive nothing if you take one.
Make the invoices you already pay count.
You pay suppliers every month. We identify which of them report, which could, and confirm each payment experience with the supplier against the invoice and the payment, so what reaches the file is real, dated and theirs to stand behind.
- Several tradelines, from suppliers you chose for business reasons.
- No new debt. No parked cash. The payment calendar is set against your own books.
- Built for the file suppliers actually read.
Its limits. It depends on suppliers agreeing to confirm, and some will not. It takes the months it takes for payments to occur and be reported. Which experiences are accepted, and when a score is calculated, is decided by the bureau, not by us. None of this is a tradeline we create or sell.
Why the file is empty.
The single thing most owners get wrong about business credit, explained without jargon.
Ninety seconds. Scores are set by Dun & Bradstreet; no outcome is guaranteed.
What the engine does.
D-U-N-S matching
Resolve the entity, confirm the number, and surface ambiguity for human review rather than guessing between similar records.
D&B profile review
You open your own file and send us what it says. We read it line by line against your filings: address, industry code, duplicates, defunct predecessor entities, experiences that are not yours.
PAYDEX analysis
What the score is built from, what is missing, and what would actually move it — in plain language, with the source and date on every figure.
Payment behaviour
Observed trade data set against your own books, so the payment calendar reflects what the bureau will actually see.
Business identity consistency
Legal name, address, phone, EIN, entity type and industry code checked across the Secretary of State, the IRS, your bank and the bureau.
Keeping it right, and 30/60/90
Every reading you send is set against the one before it, so what moved is visible and dated. A plan with owners, and handover to capital readiness when the criteria are met.
What we do, and what we will not do.
We do
- Find out whether you already have a D-U-N-S Number, resolve which record is yours, and walk you through D&B's own free request if you have none.
- Make legal identity consistent across every public and private record.
- Audit the file and dispute factual errors with evidence.
- Identify vendors that genuinely report and that your business already needs.
- Set a payment calendar against your books so invoices clear ahead of terms.
- Compare each reading you send against the last, explain what changed, and give you one prioritised action.
We do not
- Promise a score, a PAYDEX of 80, a rating, or approval for financing.
- Sell, place or broker tradelines, or use vendors that exist only to create reporting.
- Supply shelf corporations or aged entities.
- Alter, fabricate or manipulate bureau data. Scores and reports remain the property and responsibility of Dun & Bradstreet.
- Charge for the D-U-N-S Number, which D&B issues free.
- Ask for your D&B username or password, or sign in to D&B as you. The account is yours and stays yours.
- Present our internal assessment as a D&B score.
Eight stages, in order.
The D&B account is yours. We never ask for the username or password to it and never sign in as you — you read your own file and send us what it says. Nothing begins until you give written consent for us to hold and use that data, and you can withdraw it at any time.
Consent
Explicit, recorded, scoped to a stated purpose. Logged with who authorised what, when and why.
Your number
Find out whether the business already has a D-U-N-S, and which record is yours. If there is none, D&B's own free request takes up to thirty business days — we track it by their reference so nobody asks twice and ends up with two records.
Your file, from you
You claim the profile in your own session and send us what your file says. Every figure is confirmed by a named person, with the line of your report it came from recorded beside it.
Diagnostic
Profile completeness, identity inconsistencies, observed payments, file depth and risk indicators.
30/60/90 plan
Generated from deterministic rules plus analysis, then reviewed and signed off by an adviser before it reaches you.
Action
Corrections, identity hygiene, payment discipline, eligible trade references and documentation — each with an owner and a date.
Keeping it right
A fresh reading every quarter, or whenever something changes, set against the last one: what moved, what it means, one prioritised next action.
Capital ready
Handover to capital readiness when internal criteria are met, not on a calendar date.
Fixed scope, quoted before anything starts.
One price per package. It moves only for the reasons listed under the cards, each with its amount, and it is confirmed in writing before any paid work begins.

Add monitoringBase price plus stated reasons. Nothing else.
The figure you pay starts at the base price on the card and moves only for the reasons in this table. A prior Audit is credited in full against the Credit Builder within 90 days, and both are credited against the Accelerator within 180. Monitoring can be paid monthly or annually; a year up front is two months free, and if you cancel part way through an annual term we refund the unearned balance and you keep the discount on the months served. Your price never exceeds the published ceiling without a separately agreed scope. Fees are for professional services and are never contingent on a score, rating or credit decision.
| Reason | Amount | Applies to |
|---|---|---|
| Each additional legal entity in scope | +$150 | Every package |
| Each additional state the business files in | +$75 | Every package |
| Each month of unreconciled bookkeeping | +$125 | Accelerator only |
| A D-U-N-S Number already exists and is yours | -$25 | Audit and Builder |
If the report gives you nothing to do, you do not pay for it.
If the written Audit report contains no action you can take, the Audit fee is refunded in full within 10 business days of your request. Ask within 30 days of delivery. Scores, ratings and lending decisions are not ours to promise and are not what this rule is about; it is about whether the report gave you something to do.
An action is a line in the report's next-best-actions with an owner and a date. “Keep paying on time” is not one; “correct the industry code on the profile, owner: adviser, by a stated date” is. The adviser's decision on each line is recorded, so the rule can be audited rather than argued about. The full text is in the terms.
The ones worth asking any firm.
Whose D&B account is it?
Yours. The D-U-N-S Number is issued to your business and the account is in your name, which is how it should be: nothing you build here depends on us keeping a contract with a bureau, and if you stop working with us tomorrow you keep the file, the number and the history.
Do you need my D&B login?
No, and we will never ask for it. We do not hold D&B usernames or passwords, there is nowhere in our system to put one, and nobody here will sign in to D&B as you — doing that is grounds for D&B to close your account. You read your own file and send us what it says; we tell you what is wrong with it and how to fix it.
Does the D-U-N-S Number cost money?
No. Dun & Bradstreet issues it free and we do not resell or mark it up. Our fee covers the review, the corrections, the plan and the work of keeping the file right.
How long before anything changes?
If you need a D-U-N-S Number, D&B's free request takes up to thirty business days and there is no honest way to shorten it. Identity and registration work takes the first few weeks after that. Corrections run on D&B's own review timetable. A PAYDEX score cannot exist until at least two tradelines are reporting with a minimum of three payment experiences — months, not days.
Do you buy or place tradelines?
No. We do not sell tradelines, we do not use vendors that exist only to generate reporting, and we do not place references your business has no commercial reason to hold. We identify vendors that genuinely report and that you already need.
What if information on my file is wrong?
We document it and submit a factual correction through D&B's process, with evidence, and keep a copy in your file. The decision is D&B's, not ours.
Will this get me approved for financing?
It removes a common reason for rejection and gives an underwriter something to read. It does not guarantee approval. Lenders weigh cash flow, time in business, collateral and the guarantor's personal credit alongside the commercial file.
Is this credit repair?
No. Credit repair is a consumer-credit activity under its own rules. This concerns commercial credit files and does not touch your personal credit report.
Compliance. Meridian Advisor improves the quality of your business records and supports genuine financial behaviour. We do not sell tradelines, fabricate suppliers, or manipulate bureau data. D&B scores and reports remain the property and responsibility of Dun & Bradstreet, produced under their methodology.
The D&B account is the client's own. We do not hold a bureau subscription that reads it, we never ask for the username or password to it, and we never sign in as a client — signing in as an account holder is grounds for D&B to close their account, and a firm holding its clients' credit-account passwords turns one breach into a reportable event across its whole book. We hold and use the credit data a client gives us only with their written consent and only for the purpose they authorised. See Disclosures.
